The Power Of Love For Healing Your Body

Love is a complex emotion that can be difficult to define, but it's generally described as a feeling of deep affection and connection towards someone or something. Love varies from romantic love to the love you feel for your friends, family, and pets.

Reduce Stress

Research has shown that love can have a positive impact on your physical health. When you experience love, your body releases hormones like oxytocin, which can reduce stress and anxiety levels. Stress and anxiety can have a negative impact on your health, leading to a variety of physical and mental health problems. One study published in the Journal of Psychosomatic Research found that people who were in loving relationships had lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol in their bodies than those who were not in relationships.

Boost Immune System

Another study published in the Journal of Behavioral Medicine found that people who were in loving relationships had stronger immune systems than those who were single or in unhappy relationships.

"Love and healing go hand in hand. Love is the ultimate healer." - Dr. Wayne Dyer

Fast Recovery From Illnesses

Love can also help you recover from physical illnesses. Research has shown that patients who receive love and support from their family and friends have better outcomes than those who do not. In one study, breast cancer patients who had strong social support had a better quality of life and were more likely to survive their cancer, than those who did not have strong social support.

Mental Health Benefits

Love can also have a positive impact on your mental health, which in turn can improve your physical health. When you feel loved and supported, you're more likely to have positive emotions like happiness and contentment. These positive emotions can have a beneficial effect on your overall well-being.

The Power Of Love Should Not Be Underestimated

Whether it's romantic love, the love you feel for your family and friends, or the love you have for your pets, cultivating love in your life can have a profound effect on your well-being. So take some time to nurture the relationships in your life, and let the power of love heal your body and soul.

"When you cultivate love, it heals not only yourself but the world around you." - Rachel Brathen, yoga teacher and author.

8 Ways You Can Bring More Love Into Your Life

1. Mirror Work - start by loving yourself more. Louise Hay founder of Hay House Publishing and guru of self-love teachings was a strong proponent of mirror work for helping you to feel greater love for yourself. Mirror work can be challenge when you first try it, as too often when we look in the mirror we judge ourselves harshly. When you look in the mirror - do you feel

love, or do you focus on what you believe is wrong with your face, or body and focus on the negative?

Take Action - Look into a miror and look at your eyes, then say I love you. Turn off the critical voice and find some good things about yourself to love. It may take a few days, or weeks to master this, but the results are amazing.

2. Smile At Your Organs - Master Choa Kok Sui, the founder of Pranic Healing taught us to smile at our organs to help them to heal. It's a great way to send loving thoughts (which is loving energy) to your organs that need healing or a bit of a health boost.

Take Action - If you have an infection or virus, smile at your spleen as it's part of your body's immune system. Smile and think of your heart when you are feeling sad, or smile at your liver when you have overeaten, or had a few too many the night before.

3. The High 5 Habit - Mel Robbins created The High 5 Habit, combines mirror work and cheering yourself on with a high 5 each day in the mirror. It helps you to overcome negative thoughts and self-doubt by using physical touch and positive self-talk.

Take Action - Each morning give yourself a high five (put your hand on the mirror and look into your eyes) say something positive to yourself. Like 'you've got this! Give yourself a high five each time you achieve a small goal or make progress towards a larger one. The physical touch of the high five reinforces positive feelings and helps you build confidence and self-esteem.

4. Practice Gratitude - When you take a moment to focus on the positive things in your life and express gratitude for them, it can help to shift your focus away from negative thoughts and emotions, which can have a positive impact on your physical health.

Take Action - Before you go to sleep at night jot down three things you are grateful for.

5. Cultivate Self-love - Practice self-care activities that can help you feel more connected to yourself and promote feelings of love and compassion towards yourself.

Take Action - Take a relaxing bath, get a pedicure, manicure, or spend time in nature.

6. Visualize Healing - Visualization exercises can help you connect with feelings of love and positive energy, which can aid in the healing process.

Take Action - Close your eyes and imagine healing light and love flowing through your body, and filling your aura around your body, healing any areas of pain or discomfort.

7. Practice Forgiveness - Holding onto negative emotions, such as anger and resentment, can have a negative impact on your physical health. Practicing forgiveness is not an exercise in letting others treat you badly. It is a way of freeing yourself from negative experiences. One super effective forgiveness process is using the Hawaiian clearing practice Ho'oponopono.

Take Action - Write a letter of forgiveness to yourself or someone else, to release negative emotions and promote feelings of love and compassion. You don't even have to send it!

8. Physical Touch - Focus on feelings of love and connection, as they can have a positive impact on your physical health.

Take Action - Hug or hold hands with someone you love. Give or receive a foot rub, or a massage. If you are single or live alone, book a manicure, pedicure, massage or some body treatment that makes you feel amazing.

These activities can help you use love to heal your body, promote feelings of well-being and inner peace, and improve your overall physical health.

Healing your body and mind needs to be easy... and it totally can be.
